Hi from northern BC, Canada!

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum, and very new to yoga. It is a practice I am starting to learn more about. I have had a weight problem most of my life. While it was always more of an “aesthetics” issue, it is quickly developing into a health issue. Joint paint, stiffness, back pain, serious circulation problems, and extreme fatigue are what I am dealing with. No fun, especially not at the “ripe old age” of 38. I feel much, much older physically, and that scares me. I am limited in the amount of exercise I can do because of joint pain, but I have found stretching to not only feel great, but it is an activity I can do for long periods of time. I recently bought a beginners yoga DVD and am becoming familiar with basic poses. I have a long way to go, but so far, so good!

I am a reflexologist and in my spare time enjoy container gardening, participating in seed exchanges (I favour heirloom vegetable and flower seeds), reading, and writing for my blog (link below - feel free to drop by an visit. I am holding a contest at the moment).

Looking forward to catching up on some of the posts at this forum and getting to know some of you.

welcome to the forum! Your story reminds me of myself, but I was barely able to move and I was only 20 yo. I started with very gentle yoga and I did not do well but I was persistent in my practice. It did a miracle for me over years…

I wish you consistency with your practice and meeting good people on your yoga path!
merry christmas!
