How has Yoga changed your life?

I’m Adam, Im 31 from Sydney Australia and am quite new to Yoga. Although I may find some aspects of Yoga different and challenging to my stubborn skeptic mind, The practice of asana, deep breathing exercises, and deep relaxation, has already helped me in terms of awareness of my eating habits, energy levels, and has helped curb a drug habit that has tormented me for almost half my life. I feel absolutely amazing after my practice, and am surprised by the positive effects on my life.

I was wondering how anyone out there has been effected by Yoga. How has it changed your life?

Hello Mate! I’m from Sydney as well! Where are you practicing your Yoga?

I do Satyanada Yoga in Penrith. I’m looking at maybe doing Iyengar as well. There’s a place in Newtown, and one in Springwood I’m keen on. Where and what do you practice?

Yoga changed my life significantly.
It gave me better understanding of this world, of myself.
My body also changed, became lighter, maybe less strong but more flexible and hardy.

I was originally drawn to yoga through interest, I simply wanted to try it out. My “spiritual upbringing” can only be described as “New Age” so, when i began to read books on Yoga i found that i’d already come across a lot of the concepts before - i feel lucky that it was so accessible to me. I think the major effect it has had on me is to provide me with the right spiritual path for me to follow. I am very drawn to Yoga and the more i explore the subject the more i want. I still feel that i’ve got a along way to go and need to make a lot more changes in my life before i can say that my life has been completely changed by yoga. On a day to day basis, practicing yoga every morning puts me into a better mindset, and profoundly effect the the way i feelm both physically and mentally. I suppose that’s how its changed my life so far…

Doing work I like for the Original Gangsta.

Nirguna Brahman Realization. Yes I’m Bragging! *checks hair do.

Awareness of previous lives.

Intuitive Discriminating Wisdom. Thats a biggy right there. HUGE. I wasn’t born with that one intact. I had to work for it - when the time was right.

The toolkit to overcome all illness. Can’t personally heal others, but can show them ways to heal themselves.

Zero fear of death. Even though I got work to do.

Astral Travel. But I haven’t found a good use for that - yet.

Can easily dissolve my own karma if I want to.

The eyes of an artist. The heart of a poet. The mind of logician.

If I want to be ridicuously wealthy - yep.

Having the Aid of the People upstairs. If i need it. Tee Hee.

Divination.

Can pierce through maya. Between watching football and movies. This takes a while though. Mans gotta eat - ok well maybe not gotta but I like too. Who can say no to a tomatoe open faced sandwhich with mayo and salt and pepper. I certainly can’t. Glory to God for Tomatoes!

People have written about my past exploits with reverence. Books. Popular books. So kind. So kind. Helps me remember.

Frequently throughout the waking hours I am bombarded with lights, colors, shapes. These are signs invloving discriminative wisdom. They are associated with certain forms.

Visions of the Devas. That was like Whoa!

I get pretty much whatever I want - within reason. LOL. But thats kinda true of everyone really…

My body is pretty sweet, although I think the last one was better. This is a bit of a sore spot between me and the big boys. But I understand why… I do like being taller though so thats good.

I’m kinda like protected - within reason mind you. If I fall of a house. I’m gonna hit the ground, and it will hurt. So no vayu siddhi. Which would be useful in that situation.

Have the means to eliminate the need for sleep and food If I really wanted to sit down and do it. Wouldn’t be keeping up appearances though.

There’s more. It’s all good. But I’m tired of this writing.

Tomato and mayo on whole wheat bread. With salt and pepper.

For the last six months I am learning Yoga. It helps me in all aspects. Now I wants to learn more and more about Yoga.

It has transformed me… I even can say that me is that me. I became different person. Details on my website:)
