I really do not like the smell of incense during Yoga, i think because the smell is so “flat”. My Yoga teacher sprays a citrus spray at the end of each class towards the end of shavasana, and that is fantastic. It wakes you up, you can feel all your senses. Try it, its very nice!
Have tried nag champa and its very pleasent and seemed to help relaxation i also tried the sandalwood which was very good
theres many scents specially made to help mediation and yoga at stickincense
I would think that inhaling smoke while doing yoga would be counterproductive to the intention of increasing prana flow and oxygenating the blood.
I don’t use incense at all as it tends to make me feel as though the air is “clogged”.
The citrus spray at the end of a practice sounds nice though, I don’t think I’d want it during the whole session though.

I’m with you on that one. Diffusers are more effective especially if soya wax candles are used - smokeless. Can’t stand incense. Makes me feel asthmatic.

Incense is a good tool to set up the mood but its not really necessary. I use them sparingly especially that my husband is allergic to strong odors. I use sandalwood sometimes. I also light an incense when I want to relax and close my eyes, not necessarily meditating. It calms my nerves when I do so.
scent is good to control mind where mind will go in the deep sleep.
but mine question is that why to use ? yoga is a method of awakening not to go in trans. if you wanna go in trans.
I used to burn incense all the time and one of my favorite scents is the Nag Champa you mentioned, Stu. However, I lost my incense burner when I moved, so I haven’t burned any incense in a LONG time. I think I’ll have to buy another burner so that I can burn some incense next time I sit down to meditate, because that sounds like a great way to relax!
