How much is too much

New to Hatha yoga but I am a passionate person so my question is a.m.and p.m. Session everyday is that too much ? Does the body need time to recover like in other physical exercise ?
Thank you ,please forgive my ignorance
Cheers

What is too much for me is not too much for you. Only you can know whats too much for you, so listen to your body.

I would be careful practising morn / night 7 days. Your muscles / bones may be fine but ligaments and tendons need rest, cant work them all the time 24/7

But in saying that suppose depends on your own body…less is best

Thank you for the advise

Yes, the body needs time to recover. It might be good to do two sessions a day, but take at least one day off per week. It depends on your recovery ability (nutrition makes a difference – I suggest reading the books Brain Allergies, and Fats that Heal Fats that Kill, as well as Wheatbelly {good website, too} and Dr. Andrew Weil), and the intensity and duration of the work. I have been doing 20-30 minutes in the morning, then another session or two of 10-30 minutes later in the day.

I agree that it is important to avoid pain, and to be very careful about tendons and ligaments. I have read it takes about 3-4 months for tendons and ligaments to adapt to new demands. Also, this might not be popular in a yoga forum, but it is supposed to be bad for the spine to be bent forward for any length of time as that might stretch/damage ligaments. Do not bend your spine in more than one direction at a time. If you bend your spine backwards, keep your glutes tense the entire time.

I got a bit off topic, but I think that safety information is very important, and is often not emphasized enough. Hope it helps.
