How often should I practice?

I’m wondering if the fabulous effects of Yoga are sometimes lost because I am doing too much. I want to spend at least 40 mins a day doing Power Yoga, however, I swim 2 miles a day, and during the end of the summer, I play an hour of tennis a day as well. I find my arms are “dead.” I don’t want to give up Yoga during the summer and fall, so I would love to get your expertise on how many days I should devote a week so as not to lose what I gain during yoga practice.

I am certainly no expert but a daily practice for me can be as little as 10 minutes (some sun salutations A & B)and extend to an hour if I have the will and the time. Any time on a mat is a gift to me.

That’s true, I could do some balancing poses, and give the arms a break. Thx.:cool:

for me I do 2xs a day but some mornings it is around ten minutes and in the evenings I may some asanas and then do a half hour meditation. I do like honoring myself two times a day but what you feel is best for your may be different. also throughout the day I try to be conscious and let go of unecessary thoughts/feelings by just breathing when an unwanted one comes up. I may correct posture when sitting or go for a walk and chant a mantra.
