How to fix a "twist" in my abdomen/torso

Hello kind reader and thanks for your time!

I’m 26, fell on right hip when I was 19. Ever since I feel “stuck” and am constantly popping my neck and right hip. Either the fall set me off balance, OR my constant favoring of the left hip over a 6 month period after the fall caused my body to go out of alignment. ( I didn’t start the stuck uneven feeling till 6 months later)

I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist, and this bugs me because I tend to focus more on the “crooked” feeling then immersing myself in practicing.

I have had 2 people tell me I am “twisted” . One was a yoga practitioner from India that told me this when he saw my belly, and the other was an alexander teacher whom I only got to see once while on tour.

I refrain from running or doing strength training cuz it drives my mind wild and frustrated as I feel a definite blockage of movement in my right leg as opposed to the left and get very discouraged when I look at my torso in the mirror to see if my self treament of stretches has worked.

I just want to do whatever it takes to get aligned again or “unstuck”. My bellybutton leans to one side (the right) and lately my right breast has shifted higher from the torso’s twist.

the popping of the unbalances go all the way up to my neck but as I said earlier wasn’t always like this. For the past 2 years even my right eye at times feels immense pressure until i lie down and do supine twist and triangle poses. I hear and feel aloud crunch.
I can send you photos if you think this may give a clue.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!!!

Hey, christina! I just checked some of your other posts – how’s your knee?

I wonder if El Paso doesn’t have a chiropractor. You’ve mentioned before that there isn’t much in the way of yoga teachers there.

Hello Christina.

This, to me, is a therapeutic issue you bring up. Those sorts of things I need to see, move, have hands on, assess…before I can map out a direction for work.

I realize this may not be what you are wanting in a reply. What I would suggest is that you look for a therapeutically trained yoga teacher near you then, in conjunction with that teacher, develop a practice specific for your body’s needs.

At your age the healing forces in the body are powerful and while I don’t know all of what’s at play with you I can tell you your age bodes well for recovery. At the same time 6 years of misalignment will not be completely solved in a day.
