Yes, wear a headscarf or hat in all asanas and the hair won’t fall.

Seriously, why the attachment to something so insignificant?

Indian Head Massage! Yoga postures where you are stimulating blood flow and oxygen to the head, i.e inversions and the restorative pose Viparita Karani( legs up the wall)

use arnica under known practictioner of homeopathy/ayurveda, head massage, shirshasna will be beneficial. if you are indian by origin and know hindi read this wonderful magazine on ayurveda nirogdham they tell lot of valid home medicine and cure which are good and works.

The cause is usually internal. lack of certain vitamins, stress, hormones.
Especially stress - if you are a woman and hormones - if you are a man. yoga helps stress. my answer - ALL the asanas you’ve been practising so far.
but don’t worry - if you are under 40, you lose hair because of excessive amount of male hormones, and it’s not that bad:)

I think i can suggest you one yoga that might help you in hair fall.
Practice of Shirsasana directly affects the nourishment of hair it can work wonders for falling hair. Also, one more thing you can do is you can you can try rubbing the finger nails against each other for about 20-30 minutes a day at any time of day as per you convenience, need not be continuous. This can also help.

Hair fall is problem with all generation, nobody wants to be with out hair.
One thing to do is to eat the right food which will help you to protect your hair.

Would it be possible to explain more about how that works? I rub my fingernails together out of habit all the time and I’m just curious what implications it would have for people?

Are you being witty again, perchance?

Why stop hair fall? Bald is wonderful!

Gourab,

I’m with Chuck on this one. Just shave it and don’t worry. Save your hormones for something more important…?

Bald men keep it longer. Yes?

Hi Anu007,

there are two main reasons why men go bald:

A) it is hormonal
B) it is genetics

Going bald is not a disease or illness or sickness or any of those and there is basically no cure. Some opportunistic people might use this insecurity of men to sell them things which in truth do no really work and which is based on greed and the misfortune of others. Let’s discuss the two reasons for baldness.

Hormonal:
It is a known fact that as we as men grow older our bodies start to change and one of these changes is the ability of your body to produce the male hormone testosterone which regulates many functions in your body of which hair loss is one. So as you become older and you produce less testosterone and more female hormones called estrogen, naturally your hair will start to fall out and how fast depends on how fast your body is changing.

Please also note that many modern medicines has as its side effects hair loss. So look at your medicines as well if you take any.

Hormone replacement therapy might be an option, but it has its side effects which are not always very pleasant. Also remember that most of the hormones in these pills are extracted from the brains of pigs, so consider this if you are a vegetarian and if ahimsa in general is part of your practice.

Genetics:
This is the one you can’t do anything about as you are born with it, so make peace with it. Look at your paternal and maternal grand fathers, your own father and the brothers of your mother, if there is a tendency that most of them are bald, then it means that you have most probably inherited that gene and very little you do will actually change it.

How can yoga help?
Very little in fact. All the rubbing, massaging and pranayama in the world is not going to stop your hair loss, it might arrest the rate at which you lose your hair and going bald, but it will happen sooner or later in any case.

Like Siva said and some others, rather shave it all off or embrace your baldness as part of you. Celebrate the fact the more women in the world see balding men as more virile and better fathers for their children, this is subconscious and part of the non-verbal communication between men and women attracted to each other.

I had this problem, I started taking fish oil capsules.Problems gone!
I recommended it to my friends, they had the same result.
