How Why n Where to TTC

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time for what you are about to read.
I begun practising yoga six months ago, I never thought I would come to be enjoying as much as I do. I practise Hatha yoga, I haven’t tried any of the institutes, though I did pop my head in to an iyengar school for a mosey.
Anyway I’m not looking for an institute, though the place I practise follows Sivananda.
I would like probably some time next year to do a TTC course, and without question people generally feel they need to make a pilgrimage to the mother land (INDIA). I know it ain’t neccesarily so. So would anyone have suggestions, I’m open to anywhere and that includes India. I’m more of a dweller than a traveller, so I actually have no interest in sight seeing or orientalism. Rishikesh is a place that interests me, would it be best to set out there or just do a prearranged thing? Or any other countries? I live half my time in UK and the other half in Hong Kong.

have a good day.

with best wishes

Om Namah Sivaya, Tarte,

You don’t have to go to India when India comes to you. If it turns out you want to do Sivananda TTC, you’ll find the same teachers actually make an annual circuit to the various ashrams around the world, so it’s a matter of when you want to train and catching them wherever they may be. You’ll get the same training, and if it’s Sivananda TTC, you won’t have time to site see anyway.

Thank you Siva, I’m taking my time and doing the research. I have heard about a place named the Himalayan yoga tradition.
I’m a beginner, six months, I practice average of two hours a day, I need to work more than the others as I’m not very flexible, their has been a millimetre of difference recently!

Tarte,

One millimeter at a time.
