I am hoping you can help me out?

Hi,

I am doing some research on yoga for an upcoming book/video training that I have coming out soon for people learning yoga, and I am hoping you might be able to help me out for a quick second.

I really want to make sure I hit the nail on the head per se, and I am wondering if you could please hit the reply button, and answer these 4 questions about learning yoga.

 1. What is your biggest frustration with learning yoga?

 2. What have you tried so far that hasn?t worked for you?

 3. What?s your biggest fear when it comes to learning yoga?

 4. If you could have one question answered in the book/video about learning yoga, what would it be?

I really appreciate you taking the time to do this.

Thanks

on number four, I would say, how to relax when seeing “supernatural phenomenons” for me it is not such a big deal now, but in the past it had been an issue and helping a newbie through that may be of assistance to some.

Hi brother neil,

thanks for the feedback, its really appreciated.

I’ll be keeping your advice in mind.

My biggest frustration with Yoga is practicing Asanas. I am very reluctant to practicing Asanas because I prefer Pranayama and meditation. However, I know that I will have to at some stage form a consistent Asana practice as well. I see it as an essential part of a Yogic sadhana.

Hello John,

with all due respect…

What other research methods are you employing?

Hi all and thankyou for your replies so far.
Hello John,

with all due respect…

What other research methods are you employing?
InnerAthlete, thanks for the question. I am employing a range of different research options ie. personal experience, other experts etc… but firstly wanted to make sure the information I am about to create is what people really want.

For eg. No point making a course teaching beginners how to do yoga when no one wants it. Thats why I am trying to work out what people want, and what prevents them, so I can help them overcome any obstacles they have.

 1. What is your biggest frustration with learning yoga?

What are you trying to learn? Yoga is about un-learning. Quieting the mind and all the crap chatter that arises from samskaras(or seeds) due to conditioning throughout life which arise in vasanas(tendencies) which create our thought patterns and the way we react to them.

If you speak of some sort of anavopaya(technique or method) like hatha or ashtanga, then i don’t know cause i don’t sit in anything other than ardh padmasana(half lotus)

 1. What have you tried so far that hasn?t worked for you?

Thinking?

 1. What?s your biggest fear when it comes to learning yoga?

Surrender of the skeptical intellect

 1. If you could have one question answered in the book/video about learning yoga, what would it be?

None for me, the only thing one must do in regards to yoga is stop thinking and let the mind shut up. Then it all becomes clear
