I make a living with my online video classes

Hello Yogis!

I am a Yoga teacher offering some classes in a studio in PA. I know by experience that it is really hard to start and get a good number of students right away and to make a good leaving.

Anyway, one day, one my friend (more tech oriented than me) gave me the great idea to put a camera in the room and to put the video on the studio’s website. I did it and this has been an amazing success!!
I stream my classes in real time and when my class is done, the videos are available on demand on the website. My students and others have access to those classes anytime, from anywhere.

With the streaming company that I use, dacast.com (they are really good and cheap, I had to mention them!), all the people who want to see my classes have to subscribe and pay with paypal. Since then, I doubled my revenues, which is amazing.

I like to talk and share my professional experience with people… I hope this will inspire you!

Shall we assume you are Lisa, the owner of the studio?
Thank you for sharing this with the community. We look forward to your future contributions here.

Hi David,

Sorry about that… I am still trying to figure out where you can ad a signature…

User CP | Settings & Options | Edit Signature

User CP is in the second tier of the main tool bar of the page once you’ve logged in.

Ayla,

I am curious do you target beginners or more experienced yogis?

Thank you InnerAthlete and David for your advice!

fernmanus: the online classes are for all levels (but better for beginners and intermediates). And at the studio we offer classes for each level from beginners to experienced. Take a look

how close to Cleveland are you

Do you have those that appear in the videos sign a waiver/release?

So, there is a sign saying that the class will be streamed and so far I had no complain. Everyone seems ok and happy to be part of the experience.
Once, one of my student told me that she actually used the stream to look at herself to correct her position…
If one day I have a student who doesnt want to be on the video, I will advice to go where the blind spots are…

Our Wexford studio would be the closed to Cleveland, but it is still more than 2hours away… You should try the online classes
