I need help ( i am having serious health issue)

Helo.
Please read the whole thing. I need help

I am an 18 years old asmathic boy. 3 days ago i had serious asthma attack. I couldnt breath, so i started to breath improperly, with straining my shoulder muscles . Anyways i called anbulance and i was hospitalised. My PLUERA broke from heavy straining. So now my lungs have old gases in them. If they dont get out with breathing, and get replaced with new air i will need to have chest surgery which could be fatal.

Now the part where i need your help. I need breathing exercise that will help get that old air out, and get the new air in. Exercise should not include any body part movment, and should not include deep breathing.

Also if you know any type of food that helps tell me.
Ty in advance

Hello. Because of the events you’ve described, it would be very difficult to give you any kind of breathing exercises. Also, it is important to build up awareness and do yoga before starting breathing practices, and it doesn’t sound like you’re in a position to do that at the moment. If you attempt breathing exercises right now, especially without a teacher there with you, it’s possible that it could worsen your condition. Please don’t do so without consulting your doctor.

What could help you right now, however, is to meditate and visualize yourself as being healthy. As difficult as it may be for you, try to find a comfortable and safe position and let your breath move naturally. Rather than think of what could go wrong, imagine everything going perfectly smoothly. Focus on an image of yourself totally healthy, calm, happy, and peaceful.

Thoughts become things. By calming your mind and body and creating the thought pattern of health, you can lessen worries and come into a place of peace. If you meditate, thinking of your breath flowing easily, it may change on its own without you actually doing anything to direct it other than using your intention. At the very least you can create a sense of peace for yourself, which will help you through whatever comes.

Please be kind and careful with yourself. If you find something else online and you are tempted to try it - ASK your doctor first.

May this time in your life be blessed by the flow of grace.

Hey katarina. Thank you very much on your kind and encuraging words. They have calmed me a lot. Yesterday, i ask my doctor about breathing exercises, she told me not to do them now.
I tried meditating, imagining bad air coming out as i exhale and fresh air coming in when i inhale. I almost felt asleep 10 mins after haha.
If you like, i ll keep you posted about my condition.

If anyone has something to add, feel free to do it.

You’re welcome! I’m glad you are feeling more calm - being calm can make such a difference in how our bodies heal and get through challenges.

It’s great that you talked to your doctor, and that she said not “now”. Later, once your body is ready and your doc has given the okay, perhaps you can find a teacher to help you use breath practices to recreate your relationship with breathing.

Meditation, just like any yoga, is a practice. Keep at it. Even just a few minutes makes a difference. If you can do this more than once a day right now you may find that you really like it, even though the mind tries to wander. Just keep practicing, have patience with yourself, and know that every moment you spend cultivating peace and calm have a wonderfully beneficial effect on your whole being.

Take care,

Katrina
