I am been practicing yoga regularly for >8 years and healing digestive ailments. A few months ago I discovered that multiple gallstones <10 mm are present in my gallbladder. The option of having my gallbladder removed is in front of me. I rarely have “classic” gallstone symptoms but rather experience discomfort and tightness in my right side along with irritability when it is “flared”. Many holistic health practitioners recommend removing the gallbladder as a last resort. I am currently working with an ayurvedic physician (who cautions against gallstone flush) Previously I experienced mediocre (fluctuating) relief from years of chinese medicine. I recognize that I have to be careful about the type of fats and oils I consume whether I keep my gallbladder or not. I have heard mixed opinions of those who have or know of people who have had their gallbladder removed.
I am curious to find out from others who had/have gallbladder diseases how they are either coping with or without a gallbladder. I am contemplating having the removal…and am wanting more information from other yogis and yoginis. At this point in my life quality of life means the most - greater than any ideal of natural healing…Thanks!
