Image of Baba Muktananda

Was wondering if anyone could help me, I am looking for a digital image of Baba Muktananda to add to my desktop. Does anyone have one?

Hi,
try searching on Google Images. There’s lots there to choose from.

Trinity

Joan Dinardo, If you still need a digital photo of Baba, I may be able to send you one. at: eugaug8@aol.com Co  ntact me there. Govind

Thank-you. I did find some on the Google image search

I have an image of Muktananda.
Having sex (or whatever you want to call what he did) with devotees, including underage girls.
Is that the image you were looking for?
Sorry to be crude, but that is precisely what caused so many people to leave Siddha Yoga.
And it is widely accepted/acknowledged, even by the closest of swamis and inner circle devotees.
Of course there are still those in full denial, those who found a way to justify and/or live with it, and those who aren’t aware of that and other disturbing things.
Does anyone wish to weigh in on this one?
I think you know where I stand on it.

Anuman this is happening around the world, most people is cheating and if you dont like that make sure you become righteous and not like them. You cant change them but you can change your self and when you change the people around you will also change.

fakeyogis:
Not really.
Most people are not celibate sannyasi Gurus in a position of authority over tens of thousands of loving (and vulnerable) students.
Most people are not self-proclaimed (and proclaimed by countless others) Siddhas, Satgurus, Paramahamsas, Liberated, etc
Most people don’t secretly have women and underage girls sent to a special room with a special table designed for sexual whatever he was up to.
Most people don’t jam forks into their servants in a fit of rage.
I can go on and on, but I think readers get the point.
The Guru, particularly in Guru-centric paths like Siddha Yoga, is not “most people”.
They are in an entirely unique and powerful position, and as such must be held to higher (or even normal) standards of conduct/behavior - how about just good ol’ fashion common decency?
I don’t understand how people can continue to “put his image” on their altars (literally and figuratively speaking)
It must be a bad case of selective memory/reasoning?
Or perhaps the promise of being magically zapped by his Grace overpowers and stamps out the moral/ethical dimension?

I said most people are cheating today, companies and even common man. So no wonder if any guru cheats as well. Thats what i meant. Is there any measurement for wrongdoing? Is someone better because he is less wrong than the other?

Everyone will have their time when they will suffer for their wrongdoing.

People should learn from the history of buddha he noticed that no one in india at that time could help him. If buddha could become buddha by his own why should we follow yoga gurus? Its just that some yoga gurus has made us believe it so that we become dependant of them. Its like any other business. Welcome to kali yuga and the dark ages.

I can tell even by the name you have chosen, that you are jaded by Teachers/Gurus.
The truth is, there will always be people who dress themselves up as Gurus, but are really just frauds, half-baked, even well-intentioned but lacking any depth.
But there will always be genuine Gurus as well.
Yes Buddha went off on his own, but what he discovered he decided needed to be taught to others - which made him a Guru did it not?
You should not be naive to the workings of the world, but you should not be so cynical/negative.
It doesn’t serve you, or reflect your true nature.

I just tried to help you forgetting about this negativity.

When i read your postings i can see that you are also aware about WORKING OF THE WORLDS telling me how it works but in your own postings you seem to forget and apply what you know. So use your true nature here.

Yes i was cheated and it looked bad at that moment but it helped me to change my life, and i was a cheater my self. Most people live unrighteous today but they will also wake up at some time. I guess when it happens it lowers our ego. We create our own suffering then we blame others for doing us wrong.

If you don’t like cheaters make sure you become righteous your self so that you are not like them. And it does not matter if one cheat big or little , both is wrong. One cheater can not be better than the other because he only cheats less than the other.

Only someone reaching buddha hood can teach others.

Remove the lodge in your own eye before you try to remove the splint in your brothers eye. the bible says.

So its better to read the sayings and scriptures of buddha/buddhism than chasing a guru.

But we are all free to choose what we want to do.

Just a bit of my experience, not saying that I am anything special, but for some reason I have always had a feeling that whatever we needed to advance ourselves was already in us to begin with. The only problem is people are always trying to reach outward.

In Truth, that is so, but it is clear that the vast majority have not been able or willing to tap into that Intelligence - otherwise far more would be spiritually advanced, if not Enlightened by now. Which is why the Masters of all mystic/wisdom traditions have always considered a physical Guide as indispensable.
Not necessarily at every step of the way, but certainly at critical junctures at least.
And if for any reason a competent physical Guide isn’t accessible, then one can be helped through dreams, in meditation, etc.
I think what many spiritual seekers think is the voice of inner Intelligence/Inner Guru, is often just ego-based intuition, feeling, thought, emotion.
Given how incredibly tricky the ego can be, and who would deny it, why should we have such confidence in being able to discern/listen to Truth versus Ego?
I am obviously a strong believer in the Guru/Disciple tradition.
But I am also fully aware of the potential pitfalls.

Triston, just post the picture u have mentioned in your first post to end the discussion;)

Yes, if only there had been an actual picture, I think far less people would have been able to justify/explain his actions and carry on praising him.
