Instant, Temporary, Hunger

I had something happen I have not run into before.

I was doing my yoga and I felt fine and was not at all hungry and then all of a sudden when I stood in mountain with 3 moves to go in my practice I got hunger pains and was all of a sudden ravenous. I was not at all hungry when I started nor was I hungry for the first 30 minutes of my practice. It hit me all at once and it went right to hunger pains. I finished and went to get something to eat but before I got there I realized I was no longer all that hungry.

Can anyone shed some light on what the heck happened?

Sounds like a temporary increase of agni, the fire of digestion. Did you perform a pelvis lock, mula bandha with mountain pose ? It might involunatrily happen. On the other hand, it might be something else, this is just a thought.

As far as I know I just went to Staff pose and as far as I know I did not perform a pelvis lock or mula bandha. But then I do not actually know what a pelvis lock or mula bandha is so it is possible that I may have.

Anyway, I don’t think it is too much of a problem.

Just keep moving forward.

You may have been accessing some deep, chronic tension with underlying emotion that manifested as something you identified as hunger pains. We all store emotion in our body. The next time this happens, close your eyes and relax into the feeling. Feel it as intensely as you can and see if anything presents itself.

Thank You, I will

Thank You, the next time it happens I will do that.
