Is the OT the most barbaric and savage scripture in the world?
The jump from Sikhism to Hinduism is not that big. The vast majority of Sikhism is based on Hinduism directly. I see it more like going from a limited perspective and taking the higher perspective the former was embedded in: sanatana dharma.

Many Sikh people, if they are true to themselves, will realise that they’re really hindus.
Yes Surya, I agree, they are closely connected…My switch is from Christianity to Buddhism and Hinduism. And it wasn’t hard as the basic concepts of Christianity will produce the desired spiritual effects for those practicing sincerely, however, lineage is important as the fruits can be more easily obtained if you know to follow your spiritual lineage, whatever that might be. This is because you have previous experience in previous lifetimes that will leaves traces that are in you now… if you had say 20 lives before as a Sikh and 1000 as a Hindu, the Hindu will dominate and you will relate to it better. This was my experience, in part.
.

I grew up in India. I could read and write Hindi then. Then my parents moved back to America (I was born in America first, but my family moved to India after a few months) and neglected to teach me Hindi. Because all my friends spoke English (and I, a lack of English :(), I wanted to conform and thus, put more emphasis on learning English. I was only a small child then (6 or 7) so do not blame me.

By the way, I am not Punjabi. I am ancestrally a Rajput, Rajasthani in other words.
Dont worry, it was a jab…,my father had trouble reading and writing Punjabi and i have met many like that…,.its common even for those who grow up in India.,…do you know why?
I love how none of these people who want to complain about being such victims, pointing their finger at the “Evil West” or whomever they like, never stop to think that all their troubles may be due to… their karma?
Well if they were to look at the Karma aspect, they would have to stay silent…
Well if they were to look at the Karma aspect, they would have to stay silent…
exactly. that’s the one point they really want to ignore.

So far, what I have seen in posts is a desire for a dictatorship…leaving the people who desire this as bad as the accusations these people are making against Abrahamic faiths.

So the whole thing is hypocrisy…

You can quote as much as you like from the Old Testament but in the West, now, these things mean nothing to the practitioner. We don’t read the Old Testament and then have a need to destroy those around us…now it may be true that nutcase fundamentalists might but the average Christian or Muslim does not think like that. They are good decent souls going about there lives decently.

The talk on this thread is in line what a dictator would aim for where freedom of choice is not respected. freedom to choose to believe what you want, is not respected…attacking others faiths is a sure way to start a war…and coming from Hindus, well I can only suggest that they are not true representatives of the Hindu way
