As soon as I started yoga i;ve been able to do anything with my hips and had a very bendy back. (please forgive my lack of knowledge when it comes to tnames of poses) I could always do the lotus pose, full wheel (crab thingy, incase i got that wrong :P), could always easily sit onthe floor between my legs when kneeling, could always do the shoulder stand in lotus etc. Then when it comes to any forwards bends im totaly useless. my legs refuse to go straight at all, my heels decided they hate the floor and cant bear to be near it, my stomach doesnt liek to go anywhere near my legs… It just seems like because I can do the backbends and all the rest easily, I can’t do the forward ones at all. I’m getting frustrated bcause I was so used to the rest fo it comming to me without any effort. Please help me? I’ve been going to class often for almost 8 months now and I;ve seen no progress.
Namaste!
Don’t think that you are having problem while doing the different poses.Eventhough you are facing some kind of frustrartion and some kind of pains just neglect that and have in mind that it would be relieved at the end of your practice.Always think that there is some progress in your practice day by day after you thought in this manner then definitely there would be some progress.
So,never mind start thinking in a positive way, then you will achieve a positive result.
Hope so you will get a better result!
Thanks and regards…

Every body is unique. While some poses may come easily to you, and others require effort, the goal is one of balancing the body. For this reason, the poses which offer challenges are also those will most likely benefit your body structure the most. Obviously, this does not include those challenging poses which take the body out of “normal” ranges of motion - rather I am referring to poses which bring the body toward a structural harmony and provide stability of structure rather than excessive hypermobility. Ask a qualified instructor or yoga therapist to evaluate your body type and recommend an asana practice to benefit your overall strength and flexibility.
Namaste,
