Why is it necessary to meditate in a lonely place without disturbance? At the end we have to communicate with our inner self,so does it matter if their is disturbance around us…

Hello satyajit, dont know if it is necessary as such, but without external distractions it is easier to see, hear, feel the inner. So in my experience it is conducive to meditation to sit in a quiet space free from distraction. If we meditate in a" lonely" space ie the middle of a forest at night, this is more than likely to confront us with our fears. When its Quiet out side we can hear the internal noise, although in quiet places it can be very noisy outside .I used to live in a busy city and would watch/meditate on my breath whilst on the train on the way to work. Its all helpful.
Of course yoga tells us that ultimately there is no distinction between the outer and the inner.

The question is where is your Attention?
meditation in a still place can train us to recognize the stillness inside. I don’t know if it is necessary, but maybe as a learning tool it is helpful if an undisturbed place is available.

Fascinating question.
“Lonely” is a feeling and has nothing to do with being alone or being in a crowd of others. Lonely is the sense of disconnect from ones spirit and is usually felt on the conscious level when the external living does not align with the soul’s purpose for inhabiting the physical form.
As far as meditation without disturbance, certain one can cultivate the ability to go within (effectively) when all sorts of things are going on around. However, generally speaking, the journey inward to know the Self is facilitated when distraction and external stimuli are reduced, if not eliminated as there is “no place else” for the mind to go.
Along the lines of what Inner Athlete has offered, I would like to touch upon the physicality of energy. All activity around us has its own vibration. The sound of television, the buzzing and bright light of the computer, the cars going by, rowdy children, dog barking, cat sleeping, birds outside the window. Those are just a few of the vibrations I am aware of at the moment. These vibrations are constantly interacting, being absorbed and repelled by everyone and everything. They are also relatively low-level energy vibrations, in that they have very little “spirit power”.
The closer those vibrations are in vicinity to your own and the more low-level vibrations there are around you, the more clutter it makes. This clutter makes it more difficult to tune in to the vibration of spirit. If you have ten roads, and nine of them are the vibrations in your environment and one is the vibration of spirit, how can you know which road to take? It is easier to know which road to take when there is only one road to take as opposed to having ten roads to take.
Until you manifest a higher level of energy, it is extremely difficult to be able to tune into the vibration of spirit, to be able to pick that road of spirit even when the ten are present.
Conversely, when you immerse yourself in a natural place, a forest, the ocean, a mountaintop, individuals with more awareness, you align yourself with higher-level energy vibrations because nature verberates with spirit. In other words, these vibrations are already on the road to spirit and they can be a beacon to help you more easily find your way.
A straight spine and stillness are both more fundamental than outside silence but it’s a close third. Everything together is best. Personally, I have a very noticeable sound in my ears/head like the sound of holding a seashell up to the ear that gets stronger the deeper I go- it’s very pleasurable-like waves of tenseness being released- I can hear it now while typing and the excitement of the Winter Olympics are on. But it is stronger and more pleasurable when there’s silence outside. Namaste
Meditation is a tool. There are certain people who can spontaneously clear their mind anytime anywhere and there are others who need a formalized tool like meditation.
Being in a quiet area is good for when you first train the mind. It is less distracting. When finding that deep state of presence becomes easier to sustain, then you can do it anywhere.
Well…if you are like me and have children around at all times and find it hard to do meditation and would never get it if it were up to silence alone…I think mediation is good at any point you are ready to do it!! Its up to you!! I know even in my class we have interruption when the new class arrives…not that they are rude by entering in the class, its just the front door is loud. But I hear it and know exactly what the noise is and let it go!! So if you are ready to hear noises during your mediation and you understand that you are surrounded by noise I think you still can achieve a cleansing state of mind! But of course if I could all the time have it my way…I of course would choose silence.
