Journey to the Center of My Heart

Hello,

I live in Texas and started doing a yoga routine that I found on Netflix streaming. I began this about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago.

My interest in yoga was born following three years of a traumatic life situation that culminated in my husband’s suicide attempt. At that point I realized that it was time to start working on emotional healing and yoga seemed like a great way to deal with the high anxiety levels I’ve been facing.

I love it! I feel soooo much better and the more I do, the more I want to do.

For the first two weeks, I’ve been waking at 5am to do ‘Candlelight Yoga’ with Sara Ivanhoe. This week I’ve started doing “10 Minute Solution Yoga” - sections ‘basic,’ ‘burn’ and ‘relaxation’ for a 30 min total session in the morning.

I love the ‘Candlelight Yoga’ session so much that I started doing that when I get home from work, while my daughter has her free time before we start dinner.

I am here to learn more about the entire yoga philosophy and lifestyle and continue my journey of emotional healing. Please excuse my lack of familiarity with all of the terminology - I’m a noob

Welcome! If you’re around the Austin area, I know lots of us give free yoga classes in the park too

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your story and I wish you all the best.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I am actually in the Dallas area. Austin is a wonderful city with some beautiful lakes nearby.

Cool

There may be some great yoga related activities going on there. I’d suggest checking out www.meetup.com and putting in yoga as an interest. It’s also a great way to meet fellow yogis in person

Again, welcome to the forum!

Sara Ivanhoe ? You gotta love her.

I did not know this name is still in circulation.

I just searched Netflix looking for a video and found it  It was produced in 2002
