Physiologically this is addressed in your asana practice. In fact all such things can be addressed in the practice of asana. Without knowing your practice I can’t speak directly to it.
I can tell you that working on the less mobile side for additional time can move you toward balance. Make sure that you are not going further on the mobile side than you are on the less mobile side as this fosters imbalance. For example if you need a block for your hand in trikon on the left side make sure you use the block at the same height on the right side.
Ask your teacher to show you the Beginning Hip Opening Series and do it twice per day; morning and night.
Energetically the left side represents the feminine or maternal and so you can begin to look at the relationship you have with your mother and how that might be healed. Or you can look at your feelings about the feminine aspects (not female but feminine) and this is typically represented by intuition and feeling rather than rational thought and science.
You can also address this in meditation using breath and color as per your teacher’s instructions.
Nutritionally it is best to avoid foods that create inflammation or an acidic ash in the body. So I’d steer clear of wheat, sugar, dairy, alcohol and tobacco, and red meat. Focus on taking in deep green leafy vegetables and stay hydrated by drinking half your body weight in ounce each day - preferably not just water but water with something in it like lemon, lime, or fortune delight.
Topically you can apply sunbreeze oil and/or organic untoasted sesame seed oil to the hip area twice per day; morning and night.
