Little Thunderbolt Pose - Laghu Vajrasana

Hello,

I’m having terrible difficulty in getting into the “Little Thunderbolt Pose - Laghu Vajrasana”? Does anyone have any tips? I think I just have a fear that my back will snap

Are you sure you are ready for the pose? The pose may feel slightly uncomfortable if you are new to it but it shouldn’t feel like “your back is going to snap”.

You can change your hand position so that the pose is not as deep until your back is more open.

thanks shanna, i have attempted it a few times but i guess as i say i have a fear i will damage my bak so im probably too tense to get into position… iwil give the hand adjustment a go as you stated… mabe work up to the main vent

Can you do a deep wheel with proficiency and without discomfort? If so, it shouldn’t be that hard on your back. If your wheel isn’t good, then I wouldn’t recommend Laghu Vajrasana. You have to “drop back” in the same way you drop back from standing into wheel. You are closer to the ground which makes it easier but it is a drop back nonetheless.

I can do a deep wheel but I find there is discomfort so maybe imtrying to do moves that are too advanced for me right now…ever the eager beaver I am
