You mean self-love?
Absolutely!
The power of love can affect anything…give you more confidence, make you feel like anything is possible…
Hi newsonline11,
I agree with your opinion. Really it’s depending on situation. Thanks for such a beautiful post. And also thanks for reminder of how we need nurture our relationship with yoga and other.
"give you more confidence, make you feel like anything is possible… "
Without clarity of vision, such a thing would be almost disasterous. Then you can confidently enter your way into all kinds of delusion without question.
findingtheway,
“Does the power of love effect your state of mind and or yoga abilities?”
That all depends on whether you can remain a witness from moment to moment without becoming entangled in whatever arises in your experience. The moment you have become identified with whatever it is which may enter onto the scene of your awareness - you have become blinded by it, a cloud has been ressurected over your eyes which prevents you from seeing clearly into things as they are. It may be love, it may be anger, confusion, sorrow, fear, anxiety - it does not matter, it is more or less the same. Certainly something like love can be highly entangling, because of your habitual patterns to seek what you like over what you dislike - one is far more interested in pleasure like a drug addict. The reason why certain people have put love high on a pedestal as though it is the ultimate thing in life - is because they themselves have never felt loved. Otherwise - it is simple to understand, that the mind is in a constant state of change. And if your “love” is something that is to be included as part of this stream of change, and you are putting it high on a pedestal - then naturally one is bound to be delusional. Neither is the “heart” some kind of ultimate solution for man’s problems - the “heart” is capable of as many deceptions of the mind.
Once you come to know of a state which is beyond the mind and beyond the heart - then even if fear or love arises - you can remain the master. Even if a paradise passes by - you can remain a witness without attachment, neither liking nor disliking, without attraction or aversion. It all comes down to one essential principle : awareness. And your awareness is something which is much more fundamental than love, or any other mental state. The water cannot wet it, and the fire cannot burn it. But if you are living out of unconsciousness, then definitely love is going to be blinding to your vision. And because you are so hypnotized by it’s pleasantness, it makes it all the more dangerous. Otherwise, if you can remain a witness in the present, then you can enjoy it, as you can enjoy everything which existence has to offer without hesitation - and yet remain in the world but not of the world, in the mind but not of the mind.
Power of love as in love for a man or woman ?
Love is the wind, but you still need to fly it. It can lift you, but be sure it will cast you down as well.
If the OP asks about this kind of love … than, it’s the most cruel bondage we often take willingly up, because of the bliss of it’s ascendence.
But know that what you have not laboured for, is not yours, and will be taken away once it’s purpose has run out.
It is fire and it is lead. But of you know how, you can transform it into gold. I’d agree, that if one is in love, that is the most important thing that can happen to one.
As Rumi says …
?Let the lover be disgraceful, crazy, absent-minded. Someone sober will worry about events going badly. Let the lover be.?
Just takes me to another level…yes it does!
