I am trying to practice manasa japa, the silent mental repetition of my mantra, which is said to be the most highly beneficial technique for japa. I always find that when I’m trying to practice manasa, it’s hard to get away from the habit of subvocalization, like my tongue and vocals always want to move I’m trying to just remember the mantra silently instead. Can anyone with experience in this offer some good advice on how to lessen the habit of subvocalization and repeat the mantra more silently during manasa japa practice?
