Maundy Thursday: Our Common Hunger, Our Common Frailty

Friends-- today is Maundy Thursday, the day that commemorates the last supper, Communion, breaking bread together, the body and the blood, the bread and the wine, what is broken, what is spilt, what is drunk, what we carry, what we remember, what is given us to give–no matter our religious or non religious identity–these are themes which connect us one to another-- our common hunger, our common frailty. • Jen Sperry Steinorth

(I share my gifted friend’s poem in the spirit of reflection, svadyaya and in celebration of our common hunger and frailty. Personal sharing is encouraged and deeply appreciated, but if you are you provoked toward debate or offering discourse, I ask that you to please leave this thread and begin your own to do it. In the hope of this request being honored, I thank you.)

That’s my girl. Brave and bold.
