Meditation help

when i meditate and i get alot of thoughts in my head what should i do focus on my breath and let myself focus on breath and forget the thought ?

may i get tips on meditating to improve how should i act when the thoughts arise my head

There are many different meditation techniques and so different methods, I can just tell you what I think based on my experience and knowledge.
The thoughts , distractions, noises that arise during the practice are a common thing, first thing, accept your state of mind, if is agitated, allow the mind to be agitated, if is relaxed allow the mind to be relaxed( do not fight with your own mind, just accept it as it is) , the main point in the meditation process is to “witness” , to be the observer, the one who is aware without being involved.
if any distraction come in the way ( thought, noise, itching , etc.etc.) allow it to come and allow it to go, do not think that you have to stop it or reject it , at one point you will be able to witness the flow of your thought without being involved in them, use them as object of awareness .
It’s difficult to do the job if you think that you have to achieve a particular state of mind , the aim of the meditation is to BE , and you already ARE, so what you need to do is to be AWARE of the present moment, whatever you observe in the moment, if the thought are there, nothing wrong with that, if the noises or other "distracting " factors are there, just be aware of them without being involved and affected by them.
So if your meditation involve the concentration on the breath, do that , and if the thoughts come to your mind, just be aware of the thought and bring the awareness back to the breath, without thinking that you need to exclude or reject the though , if the thought come back , allow it to come back and continue in the same way ( it’s ok the have the thoughts in your mind when you meditate, it’s normal!!!).
The key is the constant practice .

how should i meditate in what position as lotus is really hard to do can i just fold my legs normally instead of doing half or full lotus and how should my hand go?

and is there any wrong when meditating? maybe the thoughts take control would that mean im meditating wrong? and how would i know im improving would i just know when it happens?

sorry that i ask alot

The position is the one that is comfortable and steady, any pose where you can keep the spine straight is fine, according to some Hatha yoga text , siddhasana is the best, but at the beginning doesn’t really matter which pose you assume, as far as the spine is straight and you are comfortable.
Don’t think that there is a wrong thing and a right thing, the moment you sit with the intention of becoming aware of yourself , that’s right for sure, the fact that the tought take control and you become distracted can be quite normal, especially at the beginning, doing asana and pranayama beforehand can be quite helpful in allowing the mind to “relax”. But avoid to start thinking that you have reach a goal. More you accept your thought and less they will “disturb” and "take control " over you.

oh okay great thanks i have one more question i hear masturbation is bad for people who meditate is this true?

I’m not in the position to tell you what is good and what is bad ( good and bad are relative concepts) , masturbation is a natural action, and there is nothing bad in this action ( according to my point of view), like eating, sleeping etc.
There is an interesting text called Vijnana Bhairava Tantra , where you can find different techniques or insight regarding the meditation, I’d suggest you to have a look , I’m sure you will find it on the net.
