Men's Yoga Clothing

Hi everyone,

Can someone refer me to some quality yoga clothing for men? we’re looking to add a few lines and would really appreciate some suggestions.

Thanks!

While I can’t suggest a particular line at this point, I pray that you make a positive difference by going with truly eco friendly clothing lines. If you find any, please let me know.

Thx David, that’s what we’re trying to do but it’s just tough to find.

Appreciate you taking the time to reply

Lululemon has a great selection. I buy all my workout and yoga clothes there.

Hello! I recently bought Living Crafts organic clothes. “Men’s funtional shorts” & “Men’s funtional t-shirt”. Made of cotton, bamboo elasthane. Really nice I think: http://www.livingcrafts.de/shop/en/catalog/category/151_articles.html

I also like Lululemon- they carry organic cotton and bamboo, which is great because I agree that eco-friendly clothing is the way to go. Roots Clothing (Canadian company- I don’t know if you have it across the border) also does eco-friendly yoga wear for women, though I am not sure if they do men’s yoga clothes. In my city (Toronto, Canada) there are several eco-friendly local designers doing yoga clothing.

I see that you are in LA- if I were you, I would see who is doing local eco-friendly yoga clothes, and even if they do not presently do men’s wear, ask if they have an interest in starting a small men’s line with the guarantee that you will carry it. I am pretty sure with some research you’ll find people already doing men’s yoga wear. I was at the Toronto Yoga Conference this year and I was surprised with the number of people (finally!) doing men’s yoga clothes.

Good luck!

I have yoga bottoms that I have bought from beebliss.com. Theyre really great. I hope you can check on their items too. By the way, where are you located at LA? I have been there when I was attending a Yoga Conference once.

hey livelife, im in the west LA area. You should definitely visit, can’t beat the weather. It’s going to be in the 90s this weekend and it’s October =D

I’ve been on a mission the last few months to do exactly what you mentioned! Trying to find men’s yoga gear is a bit tough but trying to find a partner that is willing to work and scale with a small company is equally challenging. I’ll definitely keep you posted!

These look good. Are you able to compare them to any of the other brands such as Lululemon? (I have only been using Nike and regular workout clothes to yoga so far, and am thinking of trying some clothes specially designed for yoga so they don’t move around so much, especially during power vinyassa types of classes).

You should most definitely check out a brand of activewear/yoga wear called Mondetta Performance Gear (MPG). They’re a Canadian-based company that is starting to make big waves all over North America. In Los Angeles, it’s available at Front Runners LA and The Los Angeles Athletic Club.
You should check out the site at mpgsport.com

They’re much better quality than lululemon at an even more agreeable price point.

email sent! thx!

What clothes are not “eco friendly”?

I now have to worry that my plastic bags AND my yoga pants are destroying the world?

Most. VERY FEW are.

As well as pretty much every other consumer item in your house, yes.

how are ya david?

been trying to work with local designers and clothing makers to co-create an eco-friendly brand but it’s tough.

How are things in paradise?

I defer to my friend George:

But I would be genuinely interested to know how clothing can not be “eco-friendly” and why would we should be concerned about it.

Keep up the good work my friend

Without touching upon countless variables such as the types of products that go into clothing, I’ll just mention embodied energy. The amount of petroleum involved in the shipping of raw product, the manufacturing of raw product into finished product, then the shipping of manufactured goods to final location means that, by definition, the item is not ecologically friendly.

It’s not my place to say what you should be concerned about. All I can do is bring awareness. And since most of us aren’t willing to make the lifestyle changes necessary to be friendly to the amazing entity we call mother earth, it doesn’t really matter anyway.

Good advice, thanks. I just received my first order from MPG, and am very impressed at the quality AND price

Great thread. Men’s yoga apparel is so hit and miss, few and far between.

Women have it easy and many cheap options, heck you can get yoga tights in the grocery store but guys get to shop the good enough for yoga dregs.

I’m just over average height and light to medium frame but have to buy XL
T-shirts that just hang on me, just so that I can raise my hands overhead and not flash my belly to the class. Anyone find any decent shirts for this issue?

Climbing apparel used to be good enough but lately many of the companies have dropped the stretch fabric for men. My local climbing store has women’s climbing pants with 15% lycra and men’s with only 5%.

Lulu Lemon used to be great for guys but they keep changing their lines and for the worse, judging from their own online revues.

I just can’t see myself endorsing a random shoe company logo without sponsorship.

Lululemon and Vuori are both solid picks for men’s yoga clothing—comfortable and built to move with you.
