What is everyone’s favorite time of day to get your yoga on? Calming in the morning or relaxing in the evening? Opinions on what’s best?
For me there is little difference between “calming” and “relaxing”. My morning practice is designed to wake the body up and prepare for the day. I don’t often have a legitimate evening practice though I do go to class with my teacher on Tuesday evenings. Fortunately I don’t have to select the curriculum for that.
Before bed I’ll often do the hip series or the like. But primarily my practice is in the morning.
What’s “best” is what’s allows the person doing the doing to move toward light, explore themselves, and live from their dharma (the Yogic one). Whatever does that for YOU is best
The Brahmi Muhurta time from 3:30 - 4:30 am is the best time for inner yoga practice…asanas can be done at anytime of day provided it is not too hot in your area at midday.
It’s a totally semantic distinction, but I was considering “calming” as a meditative preparation for the day and “relaxing” as coming down from the day’s stresses. With young children at home I’m shooting for the “whatever time is available” method, and hoping that there is a benefit no matter how small.
Morning is the best time foe yoga. Because at this time our all organs feel refresh after a good bed rest in night and feel more energized. According to ancient Ayurveda morning is the perfect time of exercise and more beneficial that ever.

depends on what you do…asana, pranayam, etc…
and on what are you trying to achieve…
on the householder level it is practical to practice in the morning and/or in the evening. Evening is better for restorative practice and morning suits better for more demanding asanas.
for enlightenment the instructions would be different…look up in Hatha yoga Pradipika if interested
