Mother Meera Darshan: An Encounter with the Divine Mother

I have received my first darshan from Mother Meera. Mother Meera visited Hawaii this last weekend and I was skeptical at first that I was going to have any kind of experience. I grew up as an Evangelical Christian and saw many charlatans who performed circus tricks like making people fall ‘under the power of the Holy Ghost’ or speaking in tongues, so I am always skeptical of people who claim to give spiritual experiences. But what I read about Mother Meera on the website and based on a friend’s personal connection to Mother Meera, I decided to go and check it out. So I went simply with an open heart and mind, and decided that whatever happens will be a learning experience one way of another.

Although not as famous as Amma, Indian’s beloved hugging saint, who is up for a Nobel Peace Prize Nomination I hear, Mother Meera travels the world too, to give darshan. What is this darshan? Basically you kneel in front of her, you look into each other’s eyes, but she as an embodiment of the Divine Mother, looks into your soul and channels divine light, love and grace. It all sounds like a fairy tale… but what I experienced was real.

Here is the description of Darshan from the website:
The Darshan event with Mother Meera follows a precise structure, original to her work and exactly suited to allow the transmission of the Light she brings down upon the earth. For a little moment, while she touches our temples, she is working on something that might be described as the ?wiring? of the soul. In her book, Answers, she describes an inner system of subtle energy in the human body that reaches from head to toe. By the process of incarnation and the entanglement of body and mind with worldly influences these subtle channels of energy can become knotted or blocked. During Pranam (?bowing down?) Mother very delicately works on these knots, gently freeing-up the blocks preventing spiritual development. This process has to do with the soul and its unfolding and Mother Meera says that only Divine personalities can do such work.

When Mother releases our heads we sit back and she looks into our eyes. This is Darshan (?seeing?, here ?seeing the Divine?). During Darshan, Mother is working on our ?personalities?, the everyday body/mind. She searches for areas in our being where her Light is specially needed, giving us energy, purification and inner healing? whatever is required for the mental, emotional and physical aspects of our being to live in harmony.

My Experience:
Although I couldn’t see her at first, I knew when she entered the room because I felt the energy in the room shift… a warmth like a blanket fell, and I knew it was her energy. Words cannot accurately convey what I felt, but it was intense, loving, and holy… a pure pure love. When it was my turn to receive darshan, she first placed her hands on my head, and then when I looked up, I found myself staring into the most beautiful and penetrating golden eyes, I felt she saw right into my soul, and at first I felt fear, fear that she would see all my flaws and ‘sins’ but that fear was quickly replaced by a loving tenderness that radiated from her. I walked away feeling my heart swell with a love that was not human love but Divine Love. I also felt a shift within myself, I have been more loving and patient with my family, and more peaceful within myself.
I wanted to know if others have had similar experiences like this and if they could share? Maybe someone who has been fortunate enough to receive a hug from Amma?
On another note, as a spiritual seeker, I am wondering how such a person incarnates? and how the rest of us can at least try to channel at least a fraction of that love, that light and positive energy in the world?

Id like to have this experience… Just wondering if one person will do same for everyone, I mean everyone will react the same
