Mother Teresa

She was a Catholic nun, of Albanian ethnicity and Indian citizenship.

She founded the Missionaries of Calcutta in 1950.

For over 45 years she ministered to the poor, orphaned, and dying .

She was beatified by Pope John Paul II and given the title Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.

There is abook about her: Something Beautiful for God, by Malcolm Muggeridge.

She won the Nobel Prize in 1979 and India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna in 1980.

Of course, there were objections against the proselytizing focus on her work and alleged baptism of the dying.

I’m more of the same view of Christopher Hitchens, that she was a fraud, a fanatic, and a douchbag

I wonder if, in the cold dark of any lonely night, he stares up at the ceiling and wonders “should I have kept my f***ing mouth shut?”

Really YogiAdam, do you want to say something so vulgar about someone who is so revered by so many?

We’ll I am entitled to my own opinion (I live in Australia, we have free speech there), and I do have good reasons for them, and no I don’t have lonely nights. I’m good looking, ambitious, funny and charming, so lonely nights aren’t possible lol

Hey. I wasn’t judging. Just speculating.

A multiple choice test for Christopher Hitchens:

What would P G Woodhouse call a “lower low” of a yogi,

a. hating Indians

b. hating good Indians

c. hating

d. hiding behind free speech

e. all the above.

Yeah, after I posted, I wondering that.

Gonna have to come over there and wash your mouth out with some carbolic soap yogiadam !

Dunno where you’ll be sent for that

Did Mother Theresa address, fight the Indian Government and in turn the health system?

But he’s smarter than the average bear Suhas:D

There is no health system in India. Some Health Insurance plans are emerging now (last 5 years) with AIG collaborating with Indian companies. There are any number of poor, illiterate and suffering people who are abandoned by their parents and relatives, who ordinarily finance the health costs. Mother Teresa founded a place that welcome any needy without pre-conditions, who was fed, sheltered and cared for.

Controversies are not new for people who come into the limelight, as long as there are vested interests. By her unique approach and dedicated missionary zeal she might have crossed paths with her own religious community more than the Indian Government who demonstrated their recognition of her work by honoring her with the highest title of the land.

A majority of Indians will choose not to even look at her distractors and continue to adore her as one of the greatest humans we ever had.

I take it he’s not that hot on Mother Teresa.

“…But only a complete collapse of our critcal faculties can explain the illusion that such a person is manifested in the shape of a demi-gogue, an obscurantist and a servant of earthly powers.”
[Audio-Pt.3]

I thought everyone loved Mother Teresa.

How can you fault someone who so tirelessly and compassionately sacrificed her life for the poor and dying?

But if there are legitimate criticisms or differences of opinion–fine, but to call he a d****** is way out of line.

Being that YogiAdam is an Aussie, I now have no choice but to boycott Outback Steakhouse for at least a month.

Out in the bush you might see one of those, i dunno , maybe every 600-700 miles and that’s if you’re lucky.

Just joking.

Really? I heard that Outback Steakhouse is just hype and marketing, and isn’t really Australian, (though they do have restrooms that say “blokes” instead of “men.”)

Like Haggen Daaz is just ice cream made in New Jersey.

They might eat horses out there.

Haagen Daaz sounds like Swiss or Belgian. I believe Ben & Jerry’s is American.lol

What’s Outback steakhouse?.. Actually I had kangaroo today. It’s like a superfood for bodybuilding. High in protein, low in fat, high in omega 3s.
