Hi Pandara,
ME can account for a BROAD range of symptoms and maladies. I would request that her entire medical history be shared with you before you work to really contour a practice for her. She may have anything from issues with certain organs to chronic pain, areas of paralysis, or a million other things. Then of course there is the question of how she is being or has been medicated. Then there’s lifestyle as many (myself included) would argue that ME is more psychosocial than anything.
Yep. It’s basically one of the syndromes where the doctors have no idea what it is or what is causing it so they lump a bunch of people together with like symptoms and give it a name.
I agree. In this case, I would stay away from using the medical term of ME (people tend to become attached to their diagnosis) and instead focus on how the young girl FEELS on a practice to practice basis. I’d have her come into her body, feel herself, and accept how she feels. I’m guessing the doctors have drugged her up something awful over time and due to her symptoms has probably come to fear her body, so a big part of her practice will be reestablishing a relationship with her body.
