Nasal vs mouth breathing

Excuse me if this has been asked before, but in reletively small variety of Hatha styles and instructors I have experienced, continual breathing thru the nose (both inhale and exhale) has always been the promoted technique.

Yet I have never heard a ‘firm’ statement anywhere that this is true in all Hatha styles.

Was curious if anyone has experienced differently.
Is there any style/technique where this is not the standard, or perhaps in specific asanas?
Be clear I am speaking only in regards to asana practice, not pranayam.

Thanks for sharing.

Nose breathing has the advantages of filtering, humidifying and warming the inhaled air. I have never heard of anyone advocating mouth breathing in asana. One exception: when your nostrils are blocked due to a cold.

Namaste Stillwater,
In Tibetan Yoga they use - in doing all asana 's - mouth and nose breathing together. Because this technique helps you to be in closer contact with feelings and emotions.
It is used for energy block release.
You can try and find out for yourself by breathing only through nose for 5 minutes. Than suddenly close your nose and start breathing througt the mouth for a while. Notice the difference. Then breath through nose and mouth. It is more than just adding 1 and 2 , you will experience.
But this is only done as excersice Not the normal breathing pattern.
