New in yoga

hi my name is kasima i was born and raised in thailand. But i’ve been living in seattle for 6 years now. My friends introduced me to hot yoga, and i loved it. I would love yoga to become a part of my life. I have a good feeling that it would change my life physically and mentally. I would appreciate to have anyone who want to give or share knowledges about yoga with me, i would be really thankful.

I am thinking about joining a hot yoga class at hot yoga in mill creek town and center, any ideas?

How long it would take me to practice in order for me to take a teacher traing class?

Any suggestion about anything that the beginner like me should know?

I am very serious about learning yoga not because of the physical result, but i would like to have yoga to become a part of my life. I am buddhist and i learn to meditate from high school in thailand which i hated it. But now i love it , meditation is a life changing for me.

please feel free to offer me any knowledge or suggesttion. I’m really open to anything that concern me moving forward to know yoga better.

thank you

Hi, Kasima! Welcome to the forums! I hope you don’t mind, I’ve moved your introduction to your very own thread where we can greet you properly.

I love your enthusiasm and look forward to seeing more of it.
I encourage you to try out lots of different classes – different teachers have different specialties and different levels of training, so trial (and some error) are part of finding the right fit.
How long would you want your teacher to have trained and explored in yoga before deciding to teach you? Or, would you take a teacher training class just because they can be wonderful, deep dives into this new life?
