Welcome to the wide world of yoga! As Shanna suggested, trying different classes and teachers is a great way to find what you resonate with and see how varied yoga really is.
Going with an instructor and style focused on having fun with optimal alignment and profound practice is ideal, that way you get the whole shebang - mind, body, heart - all wrapped up in a joyful practice. To me, that style is Anusara yoga. As you’re trying different styles and teachers, I highly recommend you take a couple Anusara yoga classes as well so you experience.
Since you’re in Toronto, I thought of a friend of mind who teaches there. There are a number of teachers at this studio who you may like: mykulatoronto.ca/our-teachers.php. Here’s another teacher in your area who actually has a free class coupon you can print out - louisehanly.com.
You may or may not decide to go with any of the instructors featured on these sites. I just thought that if I were in Toronto, these are the teachers I’d check out first.
Happy practicing!
