I found a studio nearby offering yoga classes and joined in on one yesterday evening, and today I’m a little bit sore. Is this normal?
Dpends on what you define as sore if like going to the gym lifting some weights yes you will get sore from yoga class.
I find the poses some instructors encourage beginners to take on ae just dangerous. Listen to your body and be aware of any sharp pain or discomfort around the neck, hips and back. Only do as much as you feel comfortable with, and ensure your instructor is accredited and certified.

Thanks for the input everyone, and thanks for the links, InnerAthlete. I figured it probably [I]was [/I]normal for me to have some soreness after my first workout, since I worked muscles during class that I don’t normally work. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t sore because I was doing something wrong!
