Hi and sorry if I post in the wrong place,
As I said in a previous post, I am planning to do a yoga teacher training soon and I want to do to this a diploma in nutrition to propose nutrition and diet advices, I am hesitating between some trainings and don’t really know how to choose because they are nearly equivalent : The first one is a Diet and Nutrition Advisor Diploma NCFE Level 3 from Stonebridge Associated College, and the other is Highter International Diploma in Nutrition from School of Natural Health Sciences London.
Well I don’t want you to choose for me, but I just wanted to know if someone here has also a qualification in nutrition and if yes, from which school.
And then as a potential patient, in which diploma would you trust more?
Thank you for your help.
Isabelle
Isabelle, to answer you question…I would trust not diploma but the person…I’d go to the office and talk to the specialist just to see if he make sense…
In my situation, I was in yoga hmm…for a long time, and know a lot, but i had to take 200hr basic training just to be legal to teach in this country. Contrary to my fellow who took 500hr training withing few months…
So, if I were you … I would chose something that gibes knowledge if I do not know the subject, and i would chose something that gives me a piece quick and cheap of paper if I know the subject very well
I totally agree with you, it’s nearly the same for yoga, I practice yoga daily for 8 years and I guess I have a good knowledge of it, but I need the “piece of paper” for insurance etc…I know also a lot in nutrition and diet and I am nearly sure I won’t learn anything in this kind of diploma but anyway to be trusted and credible in this society, most of the time we need a diploma, even if it’s just paper and it doesn’t mean anything…
Thank you for your answer, I think I would react like you as a potential “customer” but I am sure it’s the majority case.
