Opening chakras through ritual

Hi,
I believe one of the most simple ways to experience something spiritual can be achieved by doing offering, for example an incense stick to a chosen deity, like krishna, shiva, hanuman etc. BUT! I think one has to be very careful and know what he is doing, because it might be possible to simply go crazy. I have tried it with shiva and krishna. When I offered fruits or incense to shiva, I had a strong sensation in my heart area. Anyway it was not a pleasant one and I just wanted it to finish. What was that? With krishna i am not so sure, but seems, like it has to do with changing the point of view(state of mind) into something more calm, sane, simple and detached from fast sensual gratification or smthg. I would appreciate any information regarding doing offerings for deities and how one can benefit from it: open chakras etc. There’s almost nothing about it in the internet or forums. At least as long as I was looking for. Also the question that bothers me is that when doing an offering, is it possible to get more energy, just from doing the ritual or it is only about transmuting core energy (sexual energy?) into your chosen chakra, that the deity is connected with. Thank you for your attention and I am waiting for your answers.

your fellow man or woman is a diety, go give a homeless person some food and it may help to open the chakras as well.
more then a thought

Actually the same ritual can be done for a person that is alive or dead and it works, but it can make you loose lots of energy.

Namaste,

Doing puja yoga is part of Bahkti yoga and as such is designed to emphasize the devotee’s love for God. Doing puja for selfish reasons or with the wrong motivation behind it will not have the desired results. Through puja to the outer deity we learn to love the Divine within or inner Deity and then it doesn’t matter anymore if you activate this chakra or that energy. The ouer deity, god, etc then only acts as the conduit through which you can reach the inner Deity and the realisation that All is One. What is most important is that your puja should come from the heart, nowhere else, then it will be right and no one can tell you what you should or shouldn’t do or offer, in your heart you will know. I merely offer my Self to the Divine everyday to be an instrument in God’s Divine Plan.

Swami Venkatesananda said:“One should abandon the divisive notions of ‘This I Am’ and ‘This I am not’ and realise that ‘All this is Brahman’,”

Namaste,
if you want to know more about energy practice and learn doing puja you can ask for Mukunda’s Tantralessons. You can ask for it if on Mukunda’s site www.yogatherapycenter.org
Puja is devotional and should not be done for selfish reasons. But to be attracted you must first see the light.

When doing a ritual it is not required to state the reason why you are doing it. And it doesn’t affect the result. Deities are not persons, who feel if you do something to please them or for your own benefit. Also doing offering for any deity just because of learning to love the deity is insane in my opinion. If you wish you can do thousands of offerings to a person that is alive and get sick and die because of loss of energy. In this case at least somebody will get your energy. Anyway even if doing rituals for deities works, it doesn’t mean that these deities exist in personal aspect. I think they are just archetypes of energy, that can be approached for personal spiritual development goals. And to be even more precise, i’m just interested in actions, that produce result, not the philosophical speculations about becoming more and more in love with something that even who knows what it really is or if it exists at all. If you are doing a ritual for somebody just in order to love it, why don’t you do it for a toilet or whatever. Maybe just because there is no book written about worshiping toilet.

Namaste,
I like to remind you that you asked for information; if you know all about it then why asking us?
If you want to do ritual worship like puja it is a good thing to know what it was designed for. For long time it was practiced. So ask the one’s that know. Please also see Pandara’s answer.

I will be very happy in writing that book - about worshipping toilet - someday. in the toilet goes everything we do not need anymore.
The sacred intelligence that lives in me knows very well what to keep and what to toss. I realy love and respect the divine in me. So worshipping toilet is okay with me; sounds insane? maybe that is so.
let the truth be found and in the end we will find out who is crazy. In the meantime lets live with respecting one another.
We have nothing to offer anyway. What do you have you can call your own? Not even the energy you are so afraid of loosing was yours in the first place.

May all the beings in all the three worlds be happy

Dear Friend,
With reagrds to your first statement, please read my reply to you carefully, I think you miss the point about learning the path of love and devotion. If you think I am refering to the outer deity, then you are sadly mistaken.

With regards to your second statement, I think you miss the point, the fact is everything, even your worship of a toilet is energy and as such you need to understand that All energy is just but One. Look beyond the outer appearance and see the essence behind the white porcelain.

I understood your point. Divine inside. So it doesn’t have to do nothing with selfless devotion. Just taking care about your own spiritual growth. Anyway, regarding path of love, having an open heart can be a very unuseful thing to have in this material world. I had this experience in my past and I think I just wasted a lot of energy in many forms. I think a much better option is to be detached from any strong bonds with living entities or things. From my experience, doing offerings for name Krishna takes you to this mindset. I have no idea how it works, but it changes the way you think and feel.

Dear Saulekas, i do not understand how you can do offerings to Krishna with a closed heart. Or is it that i do not understand you at all? Being detached does not mean you close your heart for love. Krishna comes looking for those who suffer and is very compassionate one.

when I was younger I did some toilet worshipping myself. It was usually very early in the morning and while on my knees I would hug it. I am glad to say that I no longer partake in this  The toilet is very divine, but then again everything is
