Overgrowth on T9/10

Hi
I have a new student who has told me she has an overgrowth at T9/10 and has been told by her Consultant that she should not put any pressure on it as it may go through to her spinal cord. She also has a slipped disc (sideways) at L4/5.
She would like to start my beginners class and I am just wondering if because of this overgrowth which asanas she should do and/or avoid.
I have asked her to check with her consultant if she is ok to do yoga (waiting to hear from him).
I have done your 5 day workshop in London 21st April this year.

Any suggestions
Thank you
Om Shanti

sounds like a spinal stenosis. this is to be approached with great caution. get a diagnosis first then proceed with only my joint freeing series and be sure you get clarity on what she is feeling with all motions. I would not let this person be in a yoga class but only consult with her in individual sessions. if it is a stenosis i would not have them in class even if MD says it is ok. It is not ok in this situation. one needs personal attention if her words are correct that could go to spinal cord. only if she has greatly misunderstood situation would i consider class and then i would need MD written recommendations and assessment too. be cautious for her, yourself, and yoga’s reputation. namaste mukunda stiles
