Pope - "Harvest India to Christianity"

Allegedly the pope said this. If this is true, it vidicates the critical thinkers on this forum that condemn the Abrahamic religions for their violence ideologies, scriptures and history.

The statement, “Harvest India to Christianity” is highly offensive to 80% of Hindus who consider India their holy motherland. This is akin to Hindu’s saying “Harvest Jerusalem to Hinduism” Such statemets are the equivalent of religious terror.

If this is true, shame on Christianity. If the representative of this religion are saying things like in the 21st century, then we have every reason to demand that these religions be rid of. They obviously do not belong in a progressive world.

No Surya Deva, you are wrong. It is ok for the Christian Western world to say such things since they are at the top of the world and can do “whatever it wants, whenever it wants.” But it is wrong for those of other religions to try to fight against religious oppression and express pride in their heritage, since that is “nationalistic” or “fundamentalist.”

Oh get a grip for goodness sakes…which century did this happen? I might be able to clear this up…

Christian proselytizing happens even today. You are just too insular and look too much at your precious CNN and Fox News to realize otherwise. It seeps into American media and infects our thoughts and perceptions. I too was a victim of this…racist.

People are always passionate about their faith, like you!
People are always passionate about their faith, like you!
Indeed. And the very religion they are passionate about is a religion with built in systems propagating ignorance throughout the ages. I am not that passionate about my faith. I am passionate in my hatred for Western/Christian bias and Abrahamic religions (except Judaism). I love all other religions and belief systems equally. But you don’t get to see my side since I am always fighting against all of you, who are bigoted against Indians, India, and Hindus, and have, to various degrees, Christian/Western supremacist biases.

Keyword.

Allegedly.

I don’t think todays Pope would say such a thing.

Hilarious that you think this way…who are these Indian hating people?, where are they?

Would it be ok to harvest the world to Hinduism?

Wouldn’t that be a noble Hindu cause?

Such a statement should not be made in an offensive way.

But there is nothing wrong with this as a goal.

But feel free to demand that Christianity goes away. I think you should send a telegram to the Pope and tell him to end it today. Maybe he will think about it…

Allegedly the pope said this.

You could say that allegedly the pope said “all Hindus suck,” couldn’t you?

How about instead of “alleged” quotes, you get a real one that you can verify?

This is the major problem I have with Christianity. They say conversion is an act of love when it is clearly not love and done out of an ulterior motive. Conversion is wrong, unless done willingly. In other words, if the person is allowed to search within himself and by himself to find what religion pleases him most. Conversion is an abominable practice, similar to telling someone you love them, proceeding to marry them, and after a while, telling them they were just another sexual partner in a looooooooong list. Proselytizing should be banned.

Perhaps you should tell a similar thing to the Native Americans or the Australian Aborigines or the families of any family member who was torn away from them and made to hate their former culture and religion. “Conversion is an act of love.” Yes, it was indeed love to wipe out the cultures and civilizations of the indigenous people.

Allegedly some short Indian guy who lives in England claims that America will become Hindu by the end of the century. If this is true, it is offensive to 80% of Christians who call America their motherland. The other 20% couldn’t give a shit.

lol, but how do you know he is short? He could be a giant Indian.

Agreed. It must be a totally free and informed choice by the convertee.

And did you know that the Catholic Church will not just accept you on the spot? If you go to a Catholic Church and tell them you want to be a Catholic, you cannot join then and there, but must study the faith first, for close to a year, to make sure you know what you’re getting into, and to make sure that you truly accept it and believe it.

Conversion should never be forced. That’s not true conversion.

Are you kidding? You and I are pretty close to the same age. Have you ever met anyone who espoused like that that wasn’t vertically challenged? Not that there’s anything wrong with that. (oops, dangerously close to adding ‘heightism’ to my list of vain faults)

I have done some research online and I have not found a single source that reports this. The only sources is the extremist Hindutva propoganda sites. Until more evidence is forthcoming we have to acquit the pope of this charge

I am 6’3

More evidence that Flexpenguin believes in his own drivel

You’ve just grown a couple of inches in my eyes. (6’3" indeed! In the land of Oz maybe).

BTW - how did you know I was talking about you?

Am I in the same boat at 5’ 9.5"

Seems like I have to look up to a lot of guys.

But as observant as I like to fancy that I am, I never considered what you’re saying. I’ll be watching for that.

If I recall your posts accurately, you are 52, a mere child compared to me in my advanced years at 55. At 55 one becomes “old.” You are still a youth. I can get a senior discount in some restaurants at 55, and there is a “55 and older” club at our church, so something profound must happen at 55. So enjoy the remaining 2+ years of your youth.
