Nowadays there are so many massage/acupressure mats that are made of sooo bad quality and produced of synthetic materials, which can lead to skin allergy. I had my personal bad and good experiences with massage mats, so I am here to share with my personal ideas and thoughts about it.
If you already decided to purchases one of these massage mats, than you have to be careful in your choice. First of all you have to remember, that such mats are recommended for personal use only. Also you have to choose mats that are made of purely natural materials. While you are lying on the spikes, your body is sweating, so you have to be sure that the cover and filler are organic, which will guarantee the circulation of air and will allow your body to breath. As far as I know the majority of present acupressure mats are using cotton fir cover and foam for filler ? which is not so good and healthy for your skin, especially if you are allergic and your skin is sensitive. Also the spikes of the most mats nowadays are made of cheap plastic, and glued to the cover. My key question always was ? what is the purpose to use cotton as a cover and promote that it is pure and natural, if straight after that the manufacturers use GLUE on it? Also the bed experience shows, that most of glued spikes are falling down after first 2-3 uses. Please understand me correctly, that is my personal bed experience and if someone has another experience, I am more than happy to hear it
Currently I am using Pranamat Eco, and I can say honestly that I am more than happy that I finally found what is best for me. This mat is made of 100% linen for cover, pure coconut fiber for filler and the spikes are not glued, but placed on the cover using special technology. My skin is very sensitive, so Pranamat Eco became a solution for all my problems. Anyways, everyone should judge and think for himself/herself. I am happy with what I found and just wanted to share my personal experience with you. I will be very appreciate to hear your story or ideas about key criteria that you find are the most important. Thanks to everyone in advance.
