Post by: Nietzsche - Thread: Is this practice specific to some religion

Yulaw has reported a post.

Reason:

After reading the rules I understand that the religious section is virtually the wild west of the web, although I still do not agree it should be, but I was under the impression that the other sections were subject to the rules posted, one of those being the ?Our Community - the Off Topic Forum?. I don?t know about you but in the rules under ?Be Respectful? I am not exactly sure where calling someone ?deluded and ignorant?, calling someone mlecchas (non-Vedic, barbarian), telling someone ?You lie, you cheat, you deceive? and generally casting aspersions on someone?s character falls under the word ?Respectful?
And your irrational anger and clouded mind is why many people are turned away from religion.
I respect Hinduism in its essence, and the Hindu friends I have made have impressed me with their clarity of mind and calm disposition.

However, your zealous attitude represents what has been polluting the essence of Hinduism. This is why Hinduism has gained little popularity overseas. Not because the essence of Hinduism(yoga/vedic science) is at fault, but because of religious antagonists who wish to exert control.

Inequality of women, repression of the lower castes are not desirable qualities to people outside of India(and inside) who wish to pursuit peace of mind.

Religious institution has failed to give happiness to people, which is why people are pursuing practice outside of the old, stale order of things. Yoga is now available to everyone, and is not reserved just for Hindu men. This is the way things are.

As you ponder your next angry comment which I will not be reading, ask yourself what example you are giving to the many readers who might want to learn more of the peaceful, healthy benefits that Indian culture could give to the world.

No. It is you who is deluded and ignorant. It is because of Westerners like you that people are so misinformed about Hinduism and Indian history. You do not know your history. You know nothing of Hinduism. Your misconceptions of Indian history and society are precisely the reason why you mlecchas do not deserve to learn our traditions. You lie, you cheat, you deceive, and ultimately attempt to turn things into a mockery of itself.

When you do get around to educating yourself, you will find that Britishers like YOU were the ones who were responsible for the degradation of Indian society, i.e caste (which was dying out due to Hindu reform movements and industrialization of India during pre-British rule) and oppression of women (I am not sure if you are capable of understanding this, but in any culture or society that is raped of its wealth, there is bound to be repressive societal practices created. You ought to know this from the days in which your ancestors were nothing more than man-eating barbarians).

Hinduism has gained little popularity overseas because of Westerners like you who continually spread anti-Hindu propaganda for 4 centuries. Hinduism has gained little popularity overseas because the British were successful in raping
India and convincing everyone that Indian poverty = Hinduism.

Yoga was never reserved for Hindu men. Indians have always been liberal in teaching Yoga to people wishing to learn it.

Ask yourself, what example you are giving to the many readers by spreading erroneous information about Indian society and Hinduism. You certainly are not helping people find out the “peaceful” aspects of Hinduism.
