Prana Revolution vs tapas ultima vs jade harmony xw

I have been doing vinyasa yoga for a year and practice 3 times a week. I have been using the manduka pro however I am slipping to much due to sweat and dont want to carry along a yoga towel so want to purchase a new mat. Money is no object for me… Someone in my class has been telling me to switch to the jade xw hoever I am looking at the prana revolution and hugger mugger tapas ultima as well. And advise would be much appreciated…

namaste…

Hi Mark,

I tend not to focus too much on my mat and I no longer do a vinyasa practice so the amount of perspiration in class (for me) isn’t particularly an issue. The studio where I practice and teach supplies mats - simple Tapas mats I believe - and sometimes I find those lacking traction. In those cases I typically just move onto the wood flooring. I can’t imagine that is helpful to someone with the practice you mention.

I am aware that the Jade mats are very tacky and in fact I find them too tacky for some poses and I don’t care for their aroma, toxic or no.

If money is no object perhaps buy all three. One can rarely have too many yoga mats especially if they are versed in using them as props beyond “buffer between me and floor”. If one doesn’t work out I’m certain you can donate it to someone for whom money is an object.

My personal mat (though I have several) is a PER mat from barefoot yoga. I like it very much though it’s not quite as long as I’d like.
