Hi,
I can do my standing prayer twist towards the left ok, but when I go to my right, my right heal hurts. Can anyone offer a modification?
Thanks
Randy

It’s a vinyasa pose (power yoga et al) that you mention and I don’t teach in that style. When I did, some ten years ago, I did not find the sequences particularly malleable or modifiable.
In my practice we do not teach passive twists - those where there is only a rotation of the spine with no rooting and recoil. However I believe you can achieve the twisting benefits in other ways. If you take Vanarasana (the lunge I believe that style refers to as crescent lunge) and place the back knee down and point the back foot back…you can rotate the torso toward the front leg, take the opposite elbow over that thigh, cap the fist of that hand with the palm of the other, and use the arms to leverage the twisting action.
Of course I’m omitting alignments and actions (the actual pose) for the sake of time and space. Have your teacher cover this so it’s both safe AND effective.
