Purpose of creation -- why did we split

Hello.

I’ve been reading the Bhagavad Gita and I just need to clear something. From the All Knowing mind, why did ‘creation’ have to manifest? Why are we put in the Universe and have to seek and return to our original source? Basically, why did we ‘split’ and become form in the first place.

Clarifications appreciated.

This is a significant problem in Indian philosophy. Virtually all flavors hold that the universe goes through cycles of evolution and dissolution, but the explanations about why this occurs are not very satisfactory. Some say that it is merely the sport or pastime of the creator. Others say that the universe manifests for the benefit of the Isvara, the first-born soul who emerges at the beginning of a cycle of creation. There are probably some other explanations that I don’t know about.

when chitta resides on sushmna, the thoughts with no answer, doesn?t arise . . .

See last sentence

Creation Hymn : Rig Veda

There was neither non-existence nor existence then.
There was neither the realm of space nor the sky which is beyond.
What stirred?
Where?
In whose protection?
Was there water, bottlemlessly deep?

There was neither death nor immortality then.
There was no distinguishing sign of night nor of day.
That One breathed, windless, by its own impulse.
Other than that there was nothing beyond.

Darkness was hidden by darkness in the beginning,
with no distinguishing sign, all this was water.
The life force that was covered with emptiness,
that One arose through the power of heat.

Desire came upon that One in the beginning,
that was the first seed of mind.
Poets seeking in their heart with wisdom
found the bond of existence and non-existence.

Their cord was extended across.
Was there below?
Was there above?
There were seed-placers, there were powers.
There was impulse beneath, there was giving forth above.

Who really knows?
Who will here proclaim it?
Whence was it produced?
Whence is this creation?
The gods came afterwards, with the creation of this universe.
Who then knows whence it has arisen?

Whence this creation has arisen

  • perhaps it formed itself, or perhaps it did not -
the One who looks down on it,
in the highest heaven, only He knows
or perhaps even He does not know

As I currently understand it, the far flung creation is for the pleasure, or sport of the almighty GOD. For as to why? Ask the Father for I can only speculate.

Put yourself in his majestic shoes, and dream. What would you do?

or you could find the answers in:

The Holy Bible.

The Book of Urantia.

or other scriptures that have not come again into my mind to reawaken what I forgot.

You can blame Lucifer and Adam and Eve…and you wouldn’t be far off i think…

See “the book of urantia” - the lucifer rebellion & more…

There is no ultimate explanation for that question. It is beyond the capacity of our intellect. You would once and once again stumble upon time/space metaphysical antinomies.

It has to be just experienced.
