Question about Mudras

Hey everyone! First time poster.

I’ve been researching murdas, and finding information about each finger and the element it represents. I keep getting hung up on this though,

When pressed at the tip, the element is increased. When pressed under thumb, the element is neutralized. When pressed at the base of the finger, the element is decreased.

Anyone know how to clarify this a bit. I understand the tip increases. Neutralizing or balance confuses me, “pressed under thumb” is that referring to the “thumb pad” of each finger directly below the tip, or the actual thumb finger itself. Next, I’m assuming for decreasing that means hold whichever chosen finger folded down with your thumb pressing on the side with the fingernail. correct?

I’m not able to help Luke.
Mudras are incredibly powerful tools. There are many of them, there are counter mudras, and there are, sadly, very few who understand them well enough to share them safely with others. As such, I don’t fool with them.

what’s important about mudras is what you need from them.

in other words, they can help you achieve and/or maintain energetic balance but they can, by the same means, throw you out of balance, which might be what innerathlete was alluding to.

what specifically attracts you to mudras? do you wish to learn all about them in order to master them and teach others - or do you seek personal gain, or both, or something different entirely?
