Raja Yoga

Does anyone practice Raja Yoga or have anything to do with the Brahma Kumaris? I have just started doing some retreats there and they do an open eyed meditation, just wondering if that is difficult to achieve?

Hi Savane,

Yes, I practice Raja Yoga (or Royal Yoga) as outlined by Paramahansa Yogananda. It has nothing to do with Brahma Kumaris. Hope this helps!

I think it was a yoga journal article that described for me how one does an open eyed meditation. Find yourself in meditation with closed eyes, not reaching with your mind and senses to anything internal or external. Then patiently open your eyes and observe whether you are still not reaching.
I tried it – there’s a lot for me to learn there still.

To practice raja yoga, it is good to have a kingly disposition of the soul.

So, how is yours, Your Highness ?

What little i know about raja yoga is that it is a process to make an ordinary seeker’s soul kingly disposed. It removes Chittavraties - to make your soul not merely kingly disposed but heavenly disposed.

I practice Raja Yoga but have nothing to do with Kumaris, my practice stems from vivekananda, I guess I need the scientific approach to enlightenment
