Namaste,
I recently read two lengthy comments from YogaNiketan (dot) net website in the FAQ section:
They say they are simply quiet kriyabans of the late Dasgupta, a disciple
of Yukteswar, and are trying to preserve the original Kriya Yoga and be left alone.
The thing is, they have plenty to say about the current state of Kriya Yoga,
and it’s terribly cynical and pompous in my opinion.
They say any Guru teaching Kriya Yoga today is a fraud.
They say that all of the teachings available are corrupted and false.
And that the vast majority of seekers are just window shoppers essentially.
They say “in the old days”, seekers weren’t looking for a Kriya Yoga Guru, they were looking for God, and were fortunate due to their longing, to find someone they thought were holy men, who only later discovered they were Kriya Yoga Gurus from this lineage.
That somehow this is the way it should be done - have a strong longing to know God, happen upon a person, and then find out they have these teachings to transmit.
As if that is any indication of authenticity, and as if that is the only way it happens.
Close your eyes and ears, pray to God, and stumble upon a genuine Guru deep in the Himalayas, if you’re lucky.
Oh please!
As if all disciples of Mahasaya, Yukteswar, Yogananda, just stumbled upon these teachers without a clue in the world, other than a longing to know God!
What a load of garbage.
The fact is the world is different today than when Mahasaya was around.
And the fact is even back then, things were not as they would have you believe.
It is still possible to find authentic Kriya Yoga teachings/transmission.
And genuine Gurus who are not concerned about money and title, willing to teach it to sincere seekers.
That is what my Heart knows.
Yoga Niketan are entitled to their views.
Yes, OBVIOUSLY there are plenty of frauds.
Yes, OBVIOUSLY there are plenty of window shopping seekers.
But that doesn’t mean they are all like this.
It’s unfortunate they have such a black and white, all or nothing, negative view of things.
