I often suffer from a sore lower back especially in the mornings I have been trying asanas such as locust, sunbird, and cobra and just wandered if anyone had any advice on this issue. I find this is very common amongst women and when I ask different teachers I tend to get different opinions so am often confused. have been using gary Kraftsow dvd for the low back sacrum and hips and have been trying to be aware of my posture but still unsure. Resting my back doesnt always help either. The pain tends to go once I start moving around. I welcome any comments
There is so much that is here already on this site regarding the sacrum. If you do a search with the keyword sacrum you will find them all. I recommend those of Mukunda Stiles, my teacher, and the person for whom this site was originally created. Of course, you may add your own specific questions too. If what you are needing is not already here, and you do post an additional question, will you also offer more information about your pain? You have said both low back and sacrum and I am wondering where you are actually feeling the pain…perhaps both in the lumbar spine and also in the sacrum? The face of the sacrum? The SI joint? What brings relief? What seems to caused more discomfort? If you would, please add those types of details.
Are you getting any relief from Kraftsow’s recommendations on his DVD? His work is very sound. I was also unclear on what you meant when you said you were still unsure. If you would, please clarify this point too.
Highest regards,
thanks I will have a look first still not entirely familiar with using this website I will check it out and then get back to you , thanks again
I’ve been experiencing this recently and I’m pretty sure it has something to do with my temporary sleeping situation. A pillow between the knees (if sleeping on the side) or under the knees (if on the back) makes it less noticeable for me.

Sore lower back is often caused by uric acid crystals in the Kidney. If you drink Tea or Coffee & have been doing so for a very long time (>10yrs) then it is possible that your Kidneys needs a cleanse.
This may not be an issue with you but I thought i would add this. Lower back pain in the mornings is what i suffered for a while, a Kidney Cleans completely eliminated the pain.

Fin is correct that there is a nutritional aspect to pain.
The crucial factor is inflammation. Inflammation is especially harmful to the low back. When I experience pain from certain asanas, it dissapates within minutes. This is mostly due to the fact that my diet promotes a low inflammatory state.
hi thanks for the advice I wander can you recommend a good detox for the kidneys or should I just try cutting out tea and coffee, I have noticed that if I drink too much coffee it definately aggrvates the lower back. Cheers again
I personally wouldnt reccomend any kidney detox. The safety or efficacy of these are not great.
I’d guess that caffeine may be aggravating your back, which certainly happens in certain people.
The best detox is a healthy diet with lots of water!
hi gingerkaya,
The fact that excessive coffee consumption aggravates your lower back implies, you would benefit from a Kidney Cleanse.
The herbs for the Kidney Tea, I use can be purchased from the following link:

I have used this Tea to cleanse my Kidneys with good results.
If you want more info, please do not hesitate to ask me.
As an immediate action, i would stop consumption of all caffine drinks such as Coffee, tea etc.
Drink lots of water approx 6 to 8 glasses per day spaced out through the day.
Green Tea with a little honey is ok, as a drink.
Best Wishes,
Fin
How about a bit more moderate approach?
Since caffeine may be an aggravator please remove it from the equation. At that point a determination can be made about a safe and effective next step.
A healthy diet is always a good idea, if not a mandate.
