Sattvic Diet

? FRESH FRUIT: apples, apricots, bananas, berries, dates, grapes, melons, lemons, mangoes, oranges, peaches and plums, are considered especially Sattvic.
? VEGETABLES: beets, carrots, celery, cucumbers, green leafy veggies, sweet potatoes and squash.
? WHOLE GRAIN: cereal, organic rice, whole wheat, spelt, oatmeal and barley.
? DAIRY: milk and cheese.
? LEGUMES: Split mung beans, yellow split peas, organic tofu, bean sprouts and perhaps lentils and aduki beans.
? NUTS SEEDS AND OILS: Almonds, pine nuts, walnuts, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds. Oils should be of highest quality and cold-pressed. Good choices are olive oil, sesame oil and flax oil.
? HONEY HERBS AND TEAS: raw honey and raw sugar? basil, cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, cumin, fennel, fenugreek, fresh ginger and turmeric?. ashwagandha, bacopa, calamus, gotu kola, gingko, jatamansi, purnarnava, shatavari, saffron, shankhapushpi, tulsi and rose?.

?and a multivitamin and protein suppliment.

Follow thru this till you are full of ?the Sattvic essence.?

The persons having the sattvic essence are endowed with memory, devotion, are grateful, learned, pure, courageous, skillful, resolute, free from anxiety, having well-directed and serious intellect and activities and are engaged in virtuous acts? (CS III-8:110).

Could you tell me why you are pursuing a specifically sattvic diet?
I respect your choice though I’d like to know upon what it is based.

nothing is quit specific to me - i prefer to just eat organic low sat fat - lots of oats - and vegis

Of course. Then why ask about other foods. Just eat what feels good, no?

I don’t know if the industrialized product we in the west usually call ‘milk’ is really that healthy. Real milk is not run through a series of processes and machines. Perhaps raw milk and raw milk products are better: some discussion at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raw_milk#Homogenization.Do others have info.p.s.
