Seeing what looks like a sun with eyes closed

I see a very rapidly spinning sphere with an undulating brilliant light inside when I close my eyes. It’s always there. Sometimes it’s there with them open. I’m wondering if anyone knows what this is or sees it too?

It’s normally a sharply defined black sphere with the white light inside but sometimes it’s fuzzier and the sphere is yellowish/greenish and the point of light is yellowish. It’s been there since November.

I’ve done many searches trying to figure out what it is but can find nothing the same.

Not knowing in details, any opinion is a wild speculation. Pl take it that way.

  1. First, always get medical advice. Because yoga could be learned and practiced on our own it does not necessarily mean that its effects could be somber enough to be self-diagnosed. Injuries can happen even otherwise and the retina may be leaking light.

  2. Retina is a lens in the camera and actual seeing is brain’s activity which continues to watch the image. So, even after we close the eyes an image of an illumined object lingers on for a while. If you see light and it fades gradually it may be a simple process as above.

  3. It is also necessary to guard against an expectation to see light as a fruit of one’s spiritual labor. In my personal experience the light that is seen inside the closed eyes does not happen as a simple view that one can watch. Its very occurrence is preceded by smaller events like ability to concentrate, cleanse the mind of thoughts and an unerring intuitive presence of one’s divinity. This spiritual light pours, its warm, it caresses, it is intelligent, it is humbling … in short, the light is not a spontaneous occurrence by itself.

Having said that spiritual progress is to be counted in “life-times” and not in decades or years. A lot about one’s spiritual legacy is unknown. One can be an exception.

like i said - it’s always there…and this sphere is spinning rapidly all the time, 24/7 since it started last november. i see it most with my eyes closed but it’s there in the daylight too. there’s a brilliant light spinning in the sphere and rotating in both directions.

What you are seeing is called a Chakra. Chakra is a sanskrit word meaning wheel. You see it spin because thats what they do normaly.

There are many major and minor chakras in the body, they come in different sizes and colours. They are part of your pranic body.

You dont need your physical eyes to see inside yourself, so dont worry, its ok.

Do more research, and learn about the chakras and nadis. You will understand.

Namaste.

Maybe you should look over your practice, if it bothers you.

Tanmatric lights perhaps?
