Shatkarma: cleansing Process
Six cleansing Process popularly known as Shatkarma or Sodhana kriya in Hathyogic text, is a set of six practices meant for cleaning the six different areas of the human body. If looked from an analytical point of view-all the yogic practices are in some way a cleansing process
- Dhauti – Cleansing of the mouth & food pipe
- Basti – Cleansing of the large intestine (lower abdomen)
- Neti – Cleansing of the nasal passages
- Nauli – Strengthening of the abdominal organs
- Trataka – Purification of the eyes
- Kapalbhati – Cleansing of the frontal area of the brain
