Shoulder stiffness during hand stands

I tend to feel some soreness and/or stiffness in between my shoulder blades after doing hand stands. Anything I can do about this? Thanks.

I would recommend you preceed the handstands with both 10 cat bows (pushups from the head up cat pose, described in detail in my book) as well as dog pose to dolphin (forearm down dog). These should help you to tone the muscles between the scapula so that you use the mid trapezius more and the rhomboids less. namaste mukunda

I wanted to say thanks for the great advice. Though Cat Bows don’t seem to be effective, the Dog Pose to Dolphin you recommended has done an amazingly quick job of eliminating stiffness from that area. Also, I’ve started the half hour Sun Salutation series that you suggested in another thread and it certainly gives you a workout.
